Help Save Local Dogs and Cats When You Participate in the Dash for the Dogs

This weekend, join the Animal House Shelter for their 9th Annual Dash for the Dogs 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Family Fun Walk! This event helps raise funds to support Animal House Shelter's mission to rescue all breeds of dogs and cats regardless of age or medical condition. Join in on the fun for a great cause this Sunday, May 19th, at Citizen’s Park.

The Dash for the Dogs race course is certified and timed. Following the run and walk, there will be food, medals, awards and other festivities for people to enjoy. The top three female and male finishers in each age group receive medals. The top overall female and male finishers receive a special award. Top fundraisers will also be acknowledged! Strollers are welcome in the run and walk.

Dogs are welcome to participate in the run or walk as long as they are leashed at all times, current on rabies and distemper vaccines, and have excellent temperament with other dogs and children. The first 25 dogs to arrive with a registered person will receive a free bandana! The first two dogs to cross the finish line will also receive a prize!

Animal House Shelter is a non-profit, no-kill shelter. The shelter rescues 98% of admitted dogs and cats from animal control facilities with high rates of euthanasia. Animal House Shelter provides full veterinary care to all animals, which can include surgeries and procedures costing thousands of dollars. Animal House Shelter is open 7 days a week and 365 days a year and has rescued over 45,000 dogs and cats since opening in 2002.
